On October 15, 2011, thousands marched with Occupy Chicago, from Jackson and LaSalle to Congress Plaza, attempting to establish an encampment to bring attention to mass inequality and corporate control of our political system. The City of Chicago responded by illegally evicting demonstrators, arresting 305 protesters over the course of two weeks. Meanwhile, the U.S. faces an ongoing eviction and foreclosure crisis, destroying lives and damaging the stability of our communities.
