University Park, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Rosemary Hulett, Associate Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Relations at Governors State University, was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District Five. CASE strives to advance and support educational institutions around the world by enhancing the effectiveness of alumni relations, communications, marketing, fundraising, and other advancement professions.
Hulett, of Homewood, is uniquely qualified to serve on the board. In her position at GSU, she is active in alumni relations, fundraising, and community relations. She has worked at GSU for 11 years and has served in her current position for five years. Prior to coming to GSU, Hulett was the Director of Alumni Affairs at Chicago State University and the Associate Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving at Roosevelt University.
“My work at GSU has so many facets and I enjoy each one,” said Hulett. “I enjoy bringing alumni together with each other and the university. After graduation, students concentrate on their careers and personnel lives. There comes a point, however, when they enjoy reconnecting with fellow graduates and faculty members who were so important when they were in college. We provide both social and community service activities. There are so many possibilities for alumni to get involved.”
Hulett’s term on the District Five Board is for two years. As a board member, she will help provide leadership and professional development programs for higher education institutions in the Great Lakes states of Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Hulett is quite familiar with her duties, having previously served on the board from 1986 to 1988 and again from 1991 to 1992.
“I am honored to be selected again and look forward to working with the other board members. Our work brings professionals together with the singular purpose of helping them do their jobs better,” said Hulett. “Their work advancing higher education and creating more opportunities is vital, and I am proud to work with them toward those goals.”
