Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— The Village of Park Forest will host an appreciation dinner for members of boards and commissions this evening from 6 – 7 p.m. in Dining on the Green. Immediately following this event, Dave Rudolph and the Jeff Stitley Orchestra will perform on the Village Green as part of Main Street Nights.

Village boards and commissions include the Beautification Award Committee, Cable Communications Commission, Commission on Human Relations, Economic Development Advisory Group, Environment Conservation Commission, Housing Authority, Plan Commission, Recreation & Parks Advisory Board, Youth Commission, Senior Citizens Advisory Commission, Fair Housing Review Board, Equal Employment Opportunity Review Board, and the Zoning Board of Appeals.

Commissioners and board members who have not yet sent in an RSVP for this evening’s appreciation dinner may still attend. "They can just walk in the door," says Assistant to the Village Manager Denyse Carreras, "There are plenty of refreshments. It won’t be a problem."

Main Street Night performances last approximately 45-60 minutes each.  In case of rain, performances will be moved to Freedom Hall’s intimate 330 seat Nathan Manilow Theatre, 410 Lakewood Boulevard. Residents may call a recorded message at 283-5647 for weather related changes or cancellations.  For additional information, call the Recreation office at 748-2005.

Park Forest’s very own, Dave Rudolf will entertain the whole family his wacky songs, and madcap humor.  According to a Village press release, "Dave’s zany, infectious energy and clean comic wit will involve everyone in a delightful experience of limericks, songs and all sorts of interactive FUN!"

Comprised of many of Chicago’s top musicians and vocalists, the Stitley Orchestra is known for its versatility and great sound.  The band’s diverse repertoire includes everything from swing, standards, big band, contemporary dance, rock, R&B, Disco and Motown.

A number of businesses in the Downtown are open during Main Street Nights, including One More Thing, Noemi’s Bridal, Tall Grass Arts Association, Miller Pizza, Hero’s Hoagies, and Salon Artists.
