Health Care Reform

America’s Nurses Committed to Advancing Healthcare Reform

Silver Spring, MD–(ENEWSPF)–February 23, 2010.  The American Nurses Association (ANA), the largest nursing organization in the U.S. and a long-standing fierce advocate for guaranteed, affordable, high-quality health care for all, applaud President Obama for reinvigorating the health care debate with his $950 billion health reform proposal and for convening the bipartisan summit set for later this week.

“The stakes are too high not to take action now.  Nurses see firsthand the importance of access to affordable quality health care.  The uninsured and under insured continue to delay or forgo much-needed care; they continue to arrive in the emergency rooms across the country for conditions that could have easily been prevented with access to primary care,” said Rebecca M. Patton, RN, MSN, CNOR.

ANA looks forward to continuing its critical work with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to ensure meaningful health care reform becomes a reality.  ANA urges all nurses and health care professionals to be a part of the healthcare reform effort.  Find out the latest on ANA’s action on health reform by visiting
