House on Hickory Shot at a Second Time

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Police responded to a house in the 200 block of Hickory Street on April 12 to investigate a report of a reckless discharge of a firearm. This is the second time in a month someone shot at this house. Last time, no one was home.

The resident reported waking up to the sound of two gunshots at approximately 2:37 a.m. The resident immediately called 911. While he was on the phone with SouthCom, he listened for any noise coming from outside but heard nothing.

When the resident checked his house, he saw two gunshot holes in the front living room window. Police tracked the path of the bullets. One projectile traveled through the living room drywall towards the basement. The second traveled through the living room wall to the upstairs hallway. That bullet was found on the floor of an upstairs hallway.

Police took photographs of the scene and detectives responded to the residence for further processing.

A bullet was fired through the bedroom window of the same house on March 16. Luckily, the resident was not home at the time. The resident reported returning home late Sunday evening on March 16 and discovering a hole in his bedroom window shade.
