House Ransacked During Indianwood Burglary

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Police were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Indianwood Boulevard shortly after 5 p.m. on September 4 to investigate a report of burglary. A family member stopping by to check on the house noticed that the kitchen window had been shattered and the rear door was standing open.

When Officers Butler and Kush arrived, they entered the residence, discovering no one inside. They found the house to be in a “ransacked” condition, with drawers pulled out and various items spread on the floors throughout the residence.

According to police, there was broken glass in the kitchen sink and various kitchen items knocked over, consistent with someone climbing in through the broken kitchen window.

The bed in the master bedroom had been pulled apart and broken, according to police. Most of the drawers in the dresser had been pulled out with various items scattered on the floor. A jewelry box on top of the dresser had its drawers pulled out. The owner said several pieces of jewelry were missing.

Among the items reported stolen were a 46-inch flat screen high-definition television valued at $1499.99, a 32-inch flat screen high-definition television valued at $506.42, Nintendo Wii game system, a 14 carat diamond cuff bracelet valued at $827, a Gateway FX laptop computer valued at $1349.99, and numerous other pieces of jewelry and electronic items.
