Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—The Village of Park Forest is sponsoring free entertainment in downtown Park Forest for seven weeks this summer. The family oriented Main Street Nights features local and regional entertainers on stage in the Village Green located at Cunningham and Main Street. Vendors include civic groups selling snacks and beverages, plus Dunagains Irish Pub featuring grilled items and sides. Children can play in a bounce house provided by the Wiggle Room. Grab a blanket or a lawn chair and enjoy the free entertainment under the stars!
In case of rain, performances will be moved to Dining on the Green, 349 Main Street. For weather related changes or cancellations, please call 283-5647, for general inquiries, 748-2005.

Resident Appreciation Celebration to kick-off Main Street Nights

Touch a Truck! Children love to see and sit in many of the Village’s neat vehicles from the police, fire and water departments.

6:30 p.m. Wayne Francis
When ventriloquist Wayne Francis and his large cast of life-sized characters take the stage, audiences willingly leave reality and experience the vocal magic and comedy of this one-of-a-kind performance. With unique personalities of their own, these characters run the show as the send audiences soaring with laughter from beginning to end. The show features trick rope spinning and other surprise effects!

7:15 p.m. Chicago Soul Review
Chicago Soul Revue is an authentic tribute to the classic soul of Motown, Memphis, Philly and Chicago.
We will take you on a voyage to the late sixties where Aretha Franklin was Queen and Motown was the “it” on the radio. If you love Bill Withers, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder, Clarence Carter and Aretha you’ll love CSR.

CN-LITTLE OBIE Little Obie, the miniature Canadian National Locomotive along with accompanying flat car and caboose will provide rides for children and adults throughout the evening!
 
6:30 p.m. Barefoot Hawaiians
Barefoot Hawaiians has entertained audiences throughout the U.S. and as far away as China with their dynamic dances, dramatic drumming and vibrant costumes from the islands. The vibrant performance includes the dazzling Samoan Fire Knife dance, which features world class fire knife dancers, the thrilling visual Poi Balls dance from New Zealand and, of course, it wouldn’t be an island event without the famous Hula dance from Hawaii.

7:15 p.m. Carla Prather and Company
The sound of Carla Prather and Company permeates the very heart and soul of the audiences that follow them. They cover several genres of music, tempting every foot to tap and every finger to snap, while gaining new fans. While covering fun favorites like “Baby I’m Scared of You” by Womack and Womack, to “Respect Yourself” by the Staples Singers, to “Young Americans” by David Bowie, this band brings pure heat! Experience the hottest pure funk, jazz, R&B and soul all rolled into one!

7:15 p.m. MOJO & The Bayou Gypsies

Mojo Excitement fills the air, the spotlights hit Mister Mojo, glittering in his Mardi Gras finest! The band delivers a thrilling crescendo of Cajun accordion, fiddle, rub boards and more! From the Looziana Bayous, where the alligators got soul and the good times roll, it’s Mojo & The Bayou Gypsies! The drums electrify your heartbeat, the crowd gets ready, and Mister Mojo yells, “Everybody say YEAH!” The crowd roars, jumps to their feet, and one of America’s happiest nights of entertainment begins!

6:30 p.m. – LIVE BAND KARAOKE

A full evening of entertainment from our audience and brave members of the community! Combining the silly fun of karaoke with the energy of a live rock band, Live Band Karaoke allows anyone to fulfill their “be a star” fantasy. Singing is only half the fun! Watching others perform as the band rocks out the songs true to the original recording. Live Band Karaoke provides lyric sheets for any song on the list. The lyrics are printed in large type so they are easier to read while singing. There are tons of songs to choose from providing something for everyone.

5th Annual DownTown District MidSummer Madness Celebration Starts at 5:00 p.m.!
Visit participating Downtown Businesses to qualify for fabulous raffle prizes. Register at Dining on the Green Banquet Hall, 349 Main Street, to start your adventure. FREE Event is open to all. FREE rides on two air-conditioned PACE Buses running up and down Main Street to help you reach all locations. Food Vendors, Lots of Fun & FREE Super Goodie Bag to First 100 attendees!

6:30 p.m. Local Talent on Stage
Featuring finalists from P.F. Idols contest, SPAA Theatre, and other performers!

7:15 p.m. Southland Jazz Ensemble
Enjoy the best in classic jazz and hard driving swing by the finest big band in the Southland region. Currently in residence at Prairie State College, the group is made up of some of the most highly regarded musicians in the area.

6:30 p.m. K9 Crew
 Since 2005, Tony and Sarah Hoard have provided the ultimate high-energy canine thrill show. Not just performing Frisbee dogs, these amazing canines jump rope, exhibit agility skills and soar to exuberant heights with their high flying routines. As seen on Americas Got Talent, Good Morning America, Animal Planet, and at Super Bowl 2012!

7:15 p.m. Small Time Dave and The Windy City Groove
This band is nothin’ but a Classic Rock – Oldies party, playing a wide variety of those classic party tunes that people everywhere love to dance to. Motown, 50’s-60’s & 70’s, classic rock & soul, Elvis, Blues Brothers and a little swing, they do it all! Small Time Dave and The Windy City Groove have been regulars on the Chicago Club and festival scene for over fifteen years, and favorites across the Midwest!

After the kingdom of Arendelle is cast into eternal winter by the powerful Snow Queen Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), her sprightly sister Anna (Kristen Bell) teams up with a rough-hewn mountaineer named Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and his trusty reindeer Sven to break the icy spell. FROZEN is based on Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved fairy tale The Snow Queen.
