Benefit Concert for the Johnathan B. Fields Foundation to be Held April 21 at UUCC

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—April 6, 2012.  Johnathan Fields was a 19 year old young man who was killed 5 years ago in a horrible act of violence.  After his death, Jonathan’s parents began the Johnathan B. Fields Foundation, in his honor.

The mission of the Johnathan B. Fields Foundation is to support at-risk children and adolescents through the funding of extracurricular music education programs in stringed instruments such as the violin.  A focused study of music can provide a creative outlet for processing emotions, positively effect a student’s dedication to and performance in their academic studies, increase self-discipline, and prevent violence and drug abuse by providing structured activity during the after school hours when children are most vulnerable.

A benefit concert for the Jonathan B. Fields Foundation will be held on Saturday, April 21 at 6 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church (UUCC), 70 Sycamore Drive, Park Forest.  There is a suggested donation of $25 but donations in any amount will be gratefully accepted.

The concert will be a great opportunity to hear live music in your community, expose your children to music in a semi-casual format, and support local musicians and a very worthy cause.  The concert will be followed with a reception with food and drink and ‘dinner music’ provided by Suzanne Brookes Rickman, David Forsman and Al Joseph.
