Documentary Film ‘Vegucated’ to be Screened at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church on July 24

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—July 19, 2015. The Unitarian Universalist Community Church (UUCC) will screen the documentary film ‘Vegucated’ on Friday, July 24 at 7 p.m. A lively discussion will follow the film. The event is free and open to the public.

Part sociological experiment and part adventure comedy, ‘Vegucated’ follows three meat and cheese-loving New Yorkers who agree to adopt a vegan diet for six weeks. Lured by tales of weight lost and health regained, they begin to uncover the hidden sides of animal agriculture that make them wonder whether solutions offered in films like ‘Food, Inc.’ go far enough. This entertaining documentary showcases the rapid and at times comedic evolution of three people who discover they can change the world one bite at a time. Dr. Joel Fuhrman and Professor T Colin Campbell discuss the benefits of a plan-based diet consisting of whole foods. Friends of the Earth Vegan Starter pamphlets will be available.

Coffee, tea and popcorn will be provided. Bring a snack to share (preferably vegan) if you wish. Optional donations appreciated.

This event is co-sponsored by the South Suburban Food Coop (www.southsuburbanfoodcoop.com)

UUCC is located at 70 Sycamore Drive in Park Forest – just east of Western Avenue and south of Steger Road.
