Firefighters Heat Things Up At Sertoma Centre’s BIG Event

Limited spots remain for firehouse chefs to compete

Alsip, IL—(ENEWSPF)—March 28, 2012.  Firehouse chefs will be heating things up at Sertoma Centre’s BIG Event featuring the firehouse cook-off on Saturday, April 28 at 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park.  Firehouse chefs from across the Chicagoland area compete for the right to call themselves the best culinary creators of ribs, chicken, chili and ethnic dishes.  If you or someone you know is a firefighter or emergency responder, then consider competing in the hottest firehouse cook-off in town. Trophies and prizes are awarded for each category: chicken, ribs, chili, and ethnic dishes. Chefs prepare sample size portions for 500 people and are reimbursed up to $500 for food expenses.

At Sertoma Centre’s BIG Event 2012, sponsored by SouthtownStar Newspaper and the Aileen S. Andrew Foundation, attendees can sample the food as celebrity judges select the best firefighter chefs in the competition.

Dave Fleming the magician and juggler will perform on stage at 6:30 pm and live music will be provided by Sound Barrier.  There are raffles and fun for the entire family. Please mark your calendar and join us on Saturday April 28th, from 5 – 9 p.m. at 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park, Ill.  Guests can also play on a video gaming station from Game Pazzo, the world’s largest gaming facility in Downers Grove, IL.
