Good as New Thrift Store Plays Supporting Role in Colin Powel Middle Schools Production of JAMZ’ Christmas Carol

A Collaboration Which Benefits Students and the Community of Matteson

Alsip, IL—(ENEWSPF)–November 30, 2012: On Thursday, December 6 at 6:30 pm students in the Drama Department at Colin Powel Middle School (CPMS) in Matteson, IL will be waiting in the wings to begin their performance of JAMZ’ Christmas Carol. This is the second Dinner Theatre Fundraiser presented by the Drama Department, which consists of 25 students in sixth through eighth grades. Kristin Mathews, educator and director of the CPMS Drama Department has worked with Karey Wentz, Store Manager at Sertoma Centre’s Good as New Thrift Store, each year to help provide furniture, props and clothing/costumes for their performances.

“The relationship that our Drama Department at Colin Powell Middle School has formed with Sertoma and the “Good as New Thrift Store” has allowed our student actors to be surrounded on stage by quality props and set pieces. This partnership helps us provide our students greater access to the Arts and shows them that they have a community that supports their dreams and goals.” states Mrs. Mathews.

Tickets for the JAMZ’ Christmas Carol are available from any CPMS Drama Student or call 708-720-9702 for Ticket information. Dinner is served at 6:30 pm and the show begins at 7:00 pm at the CPMS Cafetorium.

Good as New Thrift Store is located at 4331 West Lincoln Highway, Matteson, IL. The business hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Friday, 10 am – 5 pm, Thursday, 9:30 am – 7 pm, Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm, and Sunday 10 am to 4 pm.
