First-ever Nationwide Test Will Last Approximately 30 Seconds
SPRINGFIELD–(ENEWSPF)–November 7, 2011. The Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) today reminded Illinois citizens that radio and TV stations throughout the state will be participating in a first-ever nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System at 1 p.m. CST on Wednesday. IEMA also noted that the federal government has shortened the length of the test to approximately 30 seconds instead of three minutes as originally planned.
