Midwest Pesticide Action Center Presents: Garden Gala at Garfield Park Conservatory on October 9

CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–August 17, 2014.  On Thursday, October 9th, 2014 Midwest Pesticide Action Center (formerly Safer Pest Control Project) invites you to join us in celebrating our 20 years of work protecting people and the environment at the legendary Garfield Park Conservatory, 300 North Central Park Avenue, Chicago.

Guests will enjoy the gorgeous greenhouse at the Conservatory, hors d’ouevres from sustainably minded Chicago eateries and breweries, beer and wine, a silent and live auction, and music & square dancing with the Golden Horse Ranch Band.

Those who attend the VIP hour at 6PM will experience a private tour of the Conservatory, followed by farm-to-glass, seasonal cocktails by Letherbee in the Conservatory’s enchanting outdoor gardens before the party opens to general admission attendees at 7PM.

Dust off your cowboy boots because the award-winning Golden Horse Ranch Band will be guiding guests through fun and simple square dance moves appropriate for all ages and abilities.

A complimentary parking lot will be available for guests to use. The Conservatory is an ADA-compliant facility.

For the past 20 years, Midwest Pesticide Action Center has been working at the local, state, and regional levels to protect people and the environment from the dangers of pesticides through advocacy, education, and outreach. Midwest Pesticide Action Center creates innovative programs that enable municipalities, low-income housing communities, park and school districts, childcare providers, landscapers, and homeowners to reduce indoor and outdoor pesticide use.
