CHICAGO –(ENEWSPF)—July 28, 2017 — The American Muslims for Palestine, a member of the Chicago Coalition for Justice in Palestine, has called all Chicago-area Muslims to gather in downtown Chicago for a rally and march in solidarity with the Palestinians in Jerusalem who’s freedom of worship at Al Aqsa mosque has been restricted by Israel.

Al Aqsa is the third holiest site in Islam and as such is extremely important to all Muslims, including those who reside in the Chicago area. It is located in East Jerusalem, which has been under Israeli occupation since 1967. The Status Quo is an international agreement, created at the end of the 1967 Six Day War, that stipulates that Palestinians will be able to worship at Al Aqsa freely and unfettered. Israel continually encroaches upon this agreement.

Rally and march in support of Al Aqsa mosque will be held on Friday, July 28 at 4:30 p.m. at Michigan and Congress in downtown Chicago.  The march will proceed to the Israeli consulate.
