Rich Township Senior Center Announces Upcoming Events

PARK FOREST—(ENEWSPF)—March 4, 2016. The Rich Township Senior Center is pleased to announce its upcoming events. All events are open to the public and will be held at the Senior Center, 297 Liberty Drive, in DownTown Park Forest.

Monthly Movie:  Wednesday, March 9 at 1 p.m. — We will be showing “Martian” starring Matt Damon.  After an exploratory mission goes awry, a lone astronaut, Mark Watney, is left for dead on the hostile surface of Mars and must use his scientific ingenuity to homestead an enclosed habitat where he can survive.  Rated PG-13, 2 hours/24 minutes in length.  Please call 708-748-5454 to make your reservation.  Popcorn will be served.

Monthly Trip:  Wednesday, April 27 — We will be hosting a Pullman Tour.  Visit America’s First Complete-Planned Industrial Town.  Founded by George Pullman, it was the main assembly plant for the famous Pullman Sleeper Car.  The Trip includes a stop at the Pullman Visitor’s Center, the Hotel Florence and the on-going restoration of the factory grounds.  Pullman is a Chicago City Landmark District, Illinois State Historical Site and a National Historic Landmark District.  A catered lunch at the Hotel Florence is included.  The cost of the trip is $69.  The trip departs from the Rich Township Senior Center at 9 a.m. and will return at 4 p.m.  Reservations are open now.  Please call 708-748-5454 to reserve your spot.

St. Patrick’s Day-After Party — Friday, March 18:  At Noon, Jim’s Catering for You will be serving a traditional St. Patrick’s Feast complete with corned beef and cabbage, potatoes and carrots.  After lunch we will be entertained by the wonderful music and magic of The Great Frankini!!  There will also be raffle prizes O’plenty!  Cost for the party is $10.00.  Reservations are now being taken at 708-748-5454.

Thursday Game Days — Come join us Thursday mornings at 10 a.m to play games with old friends and new friends.  We have a few games on hand, Trivial Pursuit, Racko, Pente, Chess, Pictionary, High Hand and Rummikub.  If none of these suit your taste, feel free to bring in your favorites.  Come join in the fun.  This is a new program, so please help to spread the word.
