State Farm Insurance, Edward Ford Jewelers and Corpus Christi Alumni Association Present the Fourth Concert for Students of Hales Franciscan High School


Chicago, IL—(ENEWSPF)—March 07, 2012 – “For the Love of Hales Franciscan High School” the fourth concert extraordinaire sponsored by State Farm Insurance, Edward Ford Jewelers and Corpus Christi Museum of African-American History, 749 East 56th Place, Chicago, IL. This year’s concert will include awards to Distinguished Ladies: Sister Isabelle Brazier, Rev. Helen Carry, Mrs. Doris Ford, Ms. Connie Lindsey and the Ladies of the Knights of St. Peter Claver. 

Each honoree was chosen because of the contribution and impact each has made in the community.  Sister Isabelle Brazier’s lasting legacy as First Lady of the Apostolic Church of God has been a major influence in the Woodlawn area.  Rev. Dr. Helen Ward Carry’s contributions to Christ Universal Temple and the Johnnie Coleman Institute helped to establish the school as one of the most respected institutions on the Southside of Chicago. Mrs. Doris Ford is an active member of St. Philip Neri Church; she and her husband are owners of the oldest Black business in downtown Chicago on Jewelers Row. Ms. Connie Lindsey, Executive Vice President, Northern Trust provides oversight to the firm’s response to environmental matters and social issues within the marketplace, workplace and the community.  The Ladies of the Knights of St. Peter Claver have held the African American Male Image Awards Luncheon honoring hundreds of African American Adult men and students. 

Derrick Blakely of CBS Channel 2 will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Performers for the concert are some of Chicago’s very own talented vocalists and musicians.  Milas J. Armour III, “Baritone Extraordinaire” is the featured singer.  His anointed voice will touch your heart and soul.  Dwayne Lee, a spiritually gifted vocalist will perform some selections.   Anisha McFarland, lyric soprano will grace the stage with selections from her repertoire.  Newcomer, Kennedy Simone Wilson will perform some of her favorites.  This concert intended to pay tribute to Women’s History Month is one you will not want to miss.  Proceeds from the concert will be used to provide scholarships to students of Hales Franciscan High School.  The cost of each ticket is $50.00.  To purchase tickets call: Herbert Hill (773) 783-0150 or Charles Rawlings (773) 401-1581.
