The Drama Group will present the Tony award-winning rock musical ‘Spring Awakening’ directed by Curt & Tammy Lang. Performances will be held at the Drama Group Studio Theatre, 330 W. 202nd Street, Chicago Heights, on July 31, August 1, 6, 7, and 8 at 7:30 p.m. and August 2, 8, and 9 at 2 p.m.
Set in late 19th century Germany, the musical tells the story of teenagers discovering the inner and outer tumult of teenage sexuality. Alternative rock and sign language are employed as part of the folk-infused rock score and choreography. ‘Spring Awakening’ is rated ‘R’ for mature audiences (mature themes and content).
