Union Street Gallery to Host Opening Reception for Two New Exhibits on August 10

Chicago Heights, IL—(ENEWSPF)—August 10, 2012.  Union Street Gallery, 1527 Otto Boulevard, Chicago Heights, will be the site for the opening receptions of two new exhibits on Friday, August 10 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

‘Blur’ features the art by twenty-three artists from the Midwest region that captures, portrays and illustrates motion.  The exhibit was juried by Jeff Stevenson, Director of the Visual Arts Gallery at Governors State University.

‘If Life Were Still’ features the works of three painters – Lorraine Sack, Richard Laurent, and Tanya Gadbaw.  All three artists are painters, working in oils, focusing on factual and expressive depictions of objects – their symbolic significance, the emotions they stir, and the visual challenges they inspire.  The exhibiting artists will be present at the opening reception to engage the audience and discuss their work.

Both exhibits will be featured at the Gallery through September 8.  The exhibits and reception are free and open to the public.
