Vote for Favorite Young Artist in 2015 Congressional Art Competition

MATTESON—(ENEWSPF)-April 10, 2015. The public is welcome to vote online for their favorite young artist in U.S. Representative Robin Kelly’s annual Congressional Art Competition for high school students. Voting opens April 10 at 4 p.m. and ends April 15 at 11:59 p.m.

Voters can link to the artwork from Rep. Kelly’s website at www.robinkelly.house.gov. The public is also welcome to view the artwork at Prairie State College’s Christopher Art Gallery in Chicago Heights. The gallery is open Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The winner of the contest will have the opportunity to attend a ceremony in Washington D.C. this summer and their artwork will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol for one year.

Congresswoman Kelly will host a reception where she will announce the winner and runners-up on April 18,beginning at 11 a.m., at the Christopher Art Gallery. The results will be posted on Rep. Kelly’s website after the event.

The high school art competition was established by the U.S. House of Representatives in 1982 to acknowledge and support the artistic talent of America’s young adults.
