In and Around Park Forest for the Week of May 27, 2018

Memorial Day
(Source: Pinterest)

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF) — Monday is Memorial Day, the day set aside to honor those who serve in the military.  As President Ronald Reagan said during his 1986 Memorial Day address at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day:

“Today is the day we put aside to remember fallen heroes and to pray that no heroes will ever have to die for us again. It’s a day of thanks for the valor of others, a day to remember the splendor of America and those of her children who rest in this cemetery and others. It’s a day to be with the family and remember.”

The Village of Park Forest will honor its veterans during the annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 28 at 11 a.m., on the Village Green in DownTown Park Forest. In addition, the Park Forest Veterans Commission’s Veterans Closet & Resource Center, 351 Founders way, will be open to visitors on Monday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to attend and honor those who have sacrificed so much for our country.

Be sure to check out all the other events and activities taking place In & Around Park Forest. Have a great week!
