ITC Presents Radio Players for Saturday Afternoon Reading

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— As the second offering in the “Script in Hand” series of play readings, the Illinois Theatre Center of Park Forest is pleased to welcome the Those Were the Days Radio Players, who will present a double bill of Norman Corwin’s "The Odyssey of Runyon Jones," and Dashiell Hammet’s "The Maltese Falcon" this Saturday, April 5 at 2:30 PM.

The Those Were the Days Radio Players appear courtesy of radio Hall-of-Famer, Chuck Schaden, now entering his 39th year broadcasting his weekly old time radio show, Those Were the Days. Chuck’s four hour show may be heard each Saturday afternoon from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on WDCB, 90.9 on the FM dial.

The Players are part of Schaden’s troupe of radio re-enactors who tour the Chicagoland area regularly performing old time radio scripts with authentic sound effects. Several members of the group also appear as part of the AFTRA/SAG Senior Radio Players at the Claudia Cassidy Theatre in Chicago, and appear as pool actors on “Unshackled!”, the longest running drama in radio history. Additionally, for the last seven years, the Those Were the Days Radio Players have been featured performers at the annual Friends of Old Time Radio Convention.

The actors and sound effects artists in the ITC performance are: Karen Blackful, Wayne Bulthuis Joe Gaudio, Anthony Janka,Rick Johnston,Randy Larson,Mary Raehl, Drew Sexton, Karen Lockwood, Warren Sampson, Mary Tafoya,Gary White, and Larry Youngberg. The show is produced by Koni Shaughnessy and directed by Randy Larson.

The performance of "The Odyssey of Runyon Jones," and "The Maltese Falcon" is Saturday, April 5 at 2:30 PM. Tickets are priced at just $10 each.
