Kiwanis Readies Pankatron for 57th Pancake Day

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– The Kiwanis Club of Park Forest is preparing to assemble the mighty Pankatron again. Five years ago Kiwanis reports began paying laborers to help them assemble the device that can cook and conveyor 366 pancakes in one grilling. Setting up is a two day process, making sure that everything is sparkling clean for the fun.

The 57th Annual Kiwanis Pancake Day will be on Saturday, September 27, 2008 from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The all-you-can-eat-under-the-tent serving hours are from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. tickets are available now at Village Hall, and cost five dollars for adults and two dollars for children under 12. The cost is one dollar more at the door on Saturday. Kiwanis members and volunteers serve pancakes, sausage, milk and coffee.

Proceeds benefit programs such as Key Clubs of local high schools, spastic paralysis research, food services, Park Forest Nurses Child Care and Access to Care Programs, and community youth centers.

Tickets are available at the Recreation and Parks Department, located on the 1st floor of Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive.
