Marian Band Wins Class AA, Fourth Overall at BOA

Chicago Heights, IL–(ENEWSPF)– The Marian Catholic High School Marching Band, making its record 25thappearance in the Bands of America Finals Round on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis , captured fourth place as one of only 12 bands to earn berths in the Finals Round.

With its show,"Cosmic Speculations: On the Edges of Infinity,"the Marian Band earned first place in Class AA at BOA Grand Nationals, while garnering first place in AA for Outstanding Music Performance, Outstanding Visual Performance and Outstanding General Effect.

The lone Illinois band and only Catholic band to advance to Saturday night’s Finals, Marian Catholic was one of 90 bands from throughout the nation to begin Grand Nationals competition on Friday. The Spartan Band has won BOA Grand Nationals a record seven times, most recently in 2000.

Earlier this fall, the Marian Band captured its 29thconsecutive Illinois State championship in class at Illinois State University . The Spartan Band also earned second place at the BOA St. Louis Super Regional on Oct. 18 and placed fourth overall in the Indianapolis Midwest Regional on Nov. 8 while winning class AA and taking first in AA for Outstanding Music Performance, Outstanding Visual Performance and Outstanding General Effect.
