Marian Forensics Earns 2nd Place at Thornwood

Chicago Heights, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Although somewhat rusty from the holiday break, the Marian Catholic Forensic Team nonetheless had another successful day with its second-place finish at the Thornwood T-shirt Tournament on Jan. 10. Oak Lawn earned first overall and has been neck and neck with Marian throughout the season. Olivia Jackson led the speeching Spartans with her first-place medal in Poetry Reading.

Marian had third-place medalists in Original Oratory (Anna Ceragioli), Prose Reading (Kiayla Jackson) and Humorous Interpretation (Kiayla Jackson.) Other finalists included Joe Wlos (fourth, Impromptu Speaking); Lauren Nix (fourth, Special Occasion Speaking); Chris Skurka (fifth, Original Comedy); and Tony Vaughn (fifth, Extemporaneous Speaking.)

Competitors Julie Zielinski (Dramatic Interpretation), Martin Kudra (Extemporaneous Speaking) and Mary Lou Herbias with Stephanie Lorenzetti (Humorous Duet Acting) captured sixth-place honors. Additionally, Ashley Smith earned a finalist medal in Poetry Reading.
