NBA’s Pat Williams to Speak at Marian Catholic


Chicago Heights , IL—(ENEWSPF)— Marian Catholic High School and its Leadership Program will introduce one of America ‘s finest speakers on Monday, April 28 when it welcomes Pat Williams, senior vice-president of the NBA’s Orlando Magic.

Williams will address students, guests and the public in Marian’s new Leadership Center , the primary component of the school’s Courage to Lead Campaign. The author of 44 books, Williams will speak on "The Seven Keys to Leadership in the 21st Century."

Tickets priced at $25 each are available for the event through Marian’s Advancement at 708-755-6579.

Williams became a pro sports general manager at age 24- the youngest in history- and he has spent more than 45 years as a player and executive in professional baseball and basket ball. Williams has been affiliated with NBA teams in Chicago , Atlanta and Philadelphia , including the 1983 World Champion 76ers, and now the Magic, which he co-founded in 1987.

In 1996, Williams was named as one of the 50 most influential people in NBA history by Beckett Sports. He has also completed 42 marathons, including 11 consecutive Boston Marathons. Pat and wife Ruth are the parents of 19 children, including 14 adopted from four foreign countries.

The author of Coaching your kids to be Leaders, Williams will discuss practical and proven techniques for immediately increasing productivity in a leadership capacity. His humorous anecdotes and unique leadership philosophy make this one of Williams’ most highly-regarded speeches.

Marian Catholic’s unique Leadership Program has been implemented for three years and continually seeks to offer talented speakers on a variety of topics. Williams has addressed employees from a many Fortune 500 companies and is being brought to Chicago Heights through Marian Catholic’s Leadership Founding Council.
