Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— On May 21st the Park Forest Nurses Club will award $9,000 in scholarships to area students. The winners of the 52nd annual awards are:
Jose E. Negrete, Bloom Township High School Class of 1991, will receive $1,000 to attend Prairie State College;
Tia Chante Nix, Rich Central High School Class of 2009, will receive $1,000 to attend the University of Illinois at Chicago;
Carly Novak, Crete-Monee High School Class of 2009, will receive $1,000 to attend Illinois State University;
Rebecca Pope, the recipient of the Dottie Farrell Memorial Scholarship, will receive $2,000 to attend Boston College;
Melanie Udowitz, Crete-Monee High School Class of 2008, will receive $2,000 to attend the University of St. Francis; and
Andrea Villar, Crete-Monee High School Class of 2007, will receive $2,000 to attend Olivet Nazarene College.
The Park Forest Nurses Club has awarded nursing scholarships annually to students who reside in School Districts 227, 206, and 201U since 1957. Scholarship winners are selected on the basis of grade point average, citizenship qualities and goal achievement. The scholarships may be renewed each year for students who continue in nursing programs.
