Park Forest Police Report – February 2, 2009


Jason D. White, 17, 2552 Oakwood Dr., Olympia Fields, was arrested on January 22 and charged with battery when police were dispatched to Park Forest Academy, 375 Oswego St., regarding a report of a disturbance.

Rachel N. Snoddy, 17, 4 Rich Ct., Park Forest, was arrested on January 22 and charged with battery when police were dispatched to the first block of Westwood Drive to investigate a report of battery.

Officer Studer and K-9 Dak were contacted by the Matteson Police Department to assist with a K-9 track following a report of an armed robbery in the 6000 block of Spring Lane. Officer Studer and K-9 Dak were taken to the last place the alleged offender had been observed. Fresh shoe impressions were visible in the snow at that location. K-9 Dak led police to a residence in the 600 block of Quail Run Road in Matteson, according to police.

Antoinne D. Evans, 26, 22445 Lawndale Ave., Richton Park, was arrested on January 24 and charged with one felony count of possession of a controlled substance, resisting a peace officer, and was additionally given citations charging driving with only one headlamp, speeding, fleeing and eluding. Evans was charged following a traffic stop when police observed the vehicle he was driving had only one functioning headlamp while traveling north on Western Avenue at 26th St.

Police were dispatched to Marathon Gas Station, 385 Sauk Trail, on January 25 in reference to a report of retail theft that had just occurred. According to police, a male subject took four frozen packages of Hot Pocket calzones, four frozen packages of Tyson chicken breast tenders, and walked out of the store without paying for the items. Police continue to investigate.

Eric Chu, 22, 5424 S. Cornell St., Chicago, was arrested on January 26 and charged with exceeding the posted speed limit, failure to signal when required, and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, when an officer on patrol traveling southbound on Western Avenue observed the vehicle Chu was driving allegedly exceeding the posted speed limit. A passenger in the vehicle, Mathew S. Conner, 21, 3405 Kings Rd., #102, Steger, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis.

Jason T. Hudson, 19, 16906 Shea Ave., Hazel Crest, was arrested on January 26 and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis when Detective Obremski was conducting a check of the parking lot of the Autumn Ridge Apartment complex after 11 p.m. to investigate a report of a recent armed robbery that had occurred there. Detective Obremski observed a vehicle parked at the north end of a parking lot in the first block of North Arbor Trail that was occupied by two subjects, with the engine running.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 3400 block of Western Avenue on January 27 to investigate a report of a residential burglary. Among the items reported missing were two laptop computers, a 40-inch flat screen Philips television set, and approximately $1300 in United States currency. Police continue to investigate.

A Tom-Tom 200 GPS valued at $250 and an open roll of quarters worth about three dollars were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Meota Street on January 20.

An Xbox 360, valued at $300, a Magnavox DVD player valued at $100, 10 pairs of Vans gym shoes valued at $1000, and a Sony cellular telephone valued at $75 were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Indianwood Boulevard on January 28.

Jounte L. Dawson, 26, 474 14th Pl. Apt. 8, Chicago Heights, was arrested on January 20 and charged with possession of cannabis and driving with obstructed front side windows when an officer on patrol observed the vehicle Dawson was driving had tinted front windows, according to police. The passenger in the vehicle, Cordell L.M. Jones, 20, 1951 Revere St., Chicago Heights, was charged with possession of cannabis.

An Audiovox AM/FM DVD player, valued at $200, was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Marquette Street on January 28.
