Park Forest Police Report for June 15, 2009


Cortney R. Stevens, 25, 8947 S. Eggleston St., Chicago, was arrested on June 4 and charged with domestic battery and processed on a traffic warrant out of DuPage County when police were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of East Sycamore in response to a report of a domestic disturbance.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Ash Street on June 5 to investigate a report of domestic battery. There were no arrests.

Police were dispatched to the intersection of 26th Street and Western Avenue to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance. There were no arrests. Police have suspect information and continue to investigate.

Dennis D. Lee, 17, 225 Allegheny St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 5 and charged with one felony count of burglary to a motor vehicle when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Allegheny Street to investigate a citizen’s report that Mr. Lee was walking in the area, and that Lee had a warrant for his arrest. Prior to arrival, officers learned that Lee did have a valid County Sheriff warrant on a charge of residential burglary.

B. Shelly Clark, 36, 7020 S. Jeffery Blvd., Chicago, was arrested on June 5 and issued citations charging expired registration, suspended driver’s license, and possession of cannabis, when an officer on patrol traveling westbound on Sauk Trail observed that the vehicle Clark was driving had an expired temporary registration, according to police.

The front driver side window of a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Blair Street was reported shattered on June 6.

A gray statue of a boy holding a blue glazing ball valued at $40 was reported stolen from a residence in the first block of Marquette Street on June 6.

A Dell desktop computer with a 17-inch flat screen monitor valued at $500 and two tower speakers valued at $250 were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Nauvoo Street on June 7.

Nina Garnett, 47, 3206 184th St., Homewood, was arrested on June 7 and charged with possession of cannabis, speeding, and operation of a motor vehicle with one headlight when an officer on patrol traveling northbound on Western Avenue observed the vehicle Garnet was driving traveling southbound on Western Avenue at Indianwood Boulevard at a high rate of speed with only one headlight, according to police.

Kent L.G. Andrewin, 31, 1428 West 112th Pl., Chicago, was arrested on June 7 and charged with domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of domestic violence, and possession of cannabis when police were dispatched to the first block of McCarthy Street to investigate a 911 hang-up call. A check through LEADS revealed that Adrewin was on parole, according to police. Police contacted the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) and informed them of the investigation and complaints involving Andrewin. IDOC issued a “No Bond” warrant for Andrewin.

A black Sony DVD player valued at $100 and a silver Magnavox DVD player valued at $40 were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Minocqua Street on June 7.

An Xbox video game valued at $275, an Xbox wireless remote valued at $50, and two Xbox video games valued at $120 total were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Shabbona Drive on June 7. Police continue to investigate.

A window of a garage in the first block of Water Street was reported shattered on June 7.

A Canon EOS battery pack valued at $160 and a Canon EOS memory card valued at $150 were reported stolen from a package left inside a carport in the 400 block of Talala Street on June 7.

Elliot D. McGuire, 48, 162 Nanti St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 7 and charged with two felony counts of burglary to motor vehicle when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Juniper Street to investigate a report of a suspicious person. Police recovered in McGuire’s possession a Shell gas card, a Speedway Speedy Rewards Membership Card, a Visa gift debit card, and a $10 bill. The Shell Gas Card was registered to a Park Forest resident, according to police. Police contacted the resident, who said the card had been in her vehicle but she may have left the door unlocked.

Street L. Chappel, 26, 328 Nassau St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 8 and issued a municipal citation charging pedestrians walking on the roadway when police were dispatched to that address in reference to a report of a domestic disturbance.

A 30-inch gray Casio brand flat screen television valued at $800 and a Casio brand remote control were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Mohawk Street on June 8.

A Kenwood brand CD/DVD navigation system valued at $500 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of East Sycamore Drive on June 8.

Police discovered an unoccupied black Chevrolet Suburban with no plates, no tires, and the interior stripped, on the West side of storage units in the 900 block of Norwood Boulevard on June 10. The vehicle was partially supported on wooden blocks and there were several lug nuts on the ground next to the wheel assemblies, according to police. All four tires had been removed and the interior of the vehicle had been unscrewed and dismantled. Police discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Lansing, IL. Police had the vehicle towed and advised the owner of the current location of his vehicle.

All of the body panels of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of North Arbor Trail were reported scratched on June 10. Police have suspect information.

The right rear tire of a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Marquette Street was reported slashed on June 11.

Victor K. Scott, 45, 5838 Woodgate Dr., Matteson, was arrested on June 11 and charged with domestic battery and possession of drug paraphernalia when police responded to the 3000 block of Western Avenue to investigate a report of domestic battery.

A Motorola HT-1250 VHF radio with a lapel microphone was reported lost or misplaced by a firefighter/paramedic on June 11. Deputy Chief Bruce Ziegle called police and made the report.

The Plexiglas window of a door of a residence in the 200 block of Arcadia Street was reported shattered on June 11.

Sharice C. Green, 30, 233 Allegheny St., Park Forest, was arrested on June 12 and charged with disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to that address to investigate a report of a disturbance.

Brent L. Darden, 17, 4523 Heartland Dr., Richton Park, was arrested on June 12 and charged with public elimination of bodily waste when detectives on patrol in the 100 block of Lester Street observed a subject urinating on the west side of a residence, according to police.

A 24-inch blue women’s Huffy mountain bike, a 26-inch blue men’s Huffy mountain bike, a boy’s burnt orange Mongoose bike, and a boy’s red Mongoose bike were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Nashua Street on June 12.

A 20-inch boy’s BMX Mongoose bicycle was reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Seward Street on June 12. Police have suspect information and continue to investigate.

A juvenile was arrested and issued two municipal citations charging unlawful discharge of an air gun and damage to property when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Indiana Street to investigate a report of criminal damage to property. The damage was a broken window caused by a BB gun shot at the window, according to police.

Darius M. Slatton, 20, 4211 20th St., Matteson, and Terrence Eubanks, 17, 175 Indianwood Blvd., Park Forest, were arrested on June 13 and issued municipal citations charging possession of alcohol by a minor when an officer on patrol shortly after 3 a.m. in the area of Orchard Drive and Main Street passed a vacant business and observed a vehicle parked on the South side of the building. Eubanks was also issued a municipal citation charging possession of tobacco by a minor.
