Park Forest Police Report for March 16, 2009


Police were dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on March 6 to investigate a report of fraud. A resident told police that her debit card had unauthorized charges on it in excess of $3400, according to police. The case has been turned over to detectives for investigation.

Luther Brumfield, 49, 284 Allegheny St., Park Forest, was arrested on March 7 and charged with driving on a revoked driver’s license, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, and no front registration plate, when an officer on patrol in the area of Western Avenue and Algonquin Street observed the vehicle Brumfield was driving on Western Avenue had no front registration plate, according to police.

Vanity E. McDonald, 23, 3433 Kings Rd., Apt. 307, Steger, was arrested on March 7 and given municipal tickets charging disobeying a stop sign and unlawful possession of cannabis when an officer on patrol observed the vehicle McDonald was driving allegedly disobeyed the stop sign at the intersection of Indianwood Boulevard and Western Avenue.

Wayne A. Frazier, 29, 150 Forest Blvd., Park Forest, was arrested on March 7 and charged with public intoxication and obstructing a peace officer when police were dispatched to that address to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance where someone was allegedly pounding and kicking on the door, according to police.

Richard M. Lach, 22, 22610 Imperial, Richton Park, was arrested on March 8 and charged with domestic battery and criminal damage to property when police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Washington Street to investigate a report of criminal damage to property.

Jonathan Randle-El, 40, 216 Grant St., Park Forest, was arrested on March 8 and charged with two counts of domestic battery when police were dispatched to that address to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance.

Anthony D. Carroll, 21, 900 E. Grand Ave., #206, Carbondale, IL, was arrested on March 9 and charged with speeding 21-30 m.p.h. over the limit, driving on a suspended driver’s license, and possession of cannabis when an officer, conducting stationary radar enforcement of Lincoln Highway traffic at Indiana Street, observed the vehicle Carroll was driving at what appeared to be a high rate of speed, according to police. The officer’s in-car radar indicated that the vehicle was traveling 63 m.p.h. in a posted 40 m.p.h. zone, according to police.

A furnace valued at $3500, two faucets valued at $50, and a plastic utility club were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Minocqua Street on March 9. A witness reported seeing a white van, with black accents on it, which the witness thought belonged to contractors. Contractors confirmed that none of their employees have that type of vehicle.

Dawn G. Stallion, 19, 25837 Western Ave., University Park, was arrested on March 9 and charged with one felony count of forgery when police were dispatched to the Park Forest Currency Exchange, 98 S. Orchard Drive, in reference to a report of possible fraud. Stallion was allegedly attempting to cash a fraudulent check in the amount of $4783.56. Police say she told them she knew the check wasn’t real but still wanted to try and cash it.

Dennis L. Johnson, 24, 541 Concord Dr., Chicago Heights, was arrested on March 9 and charged with criminal damage to property when police were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of Sauk Trail to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance.

Simeon O. Menzies, 30, 2860 224th St., Sauk Village, was arrested on March 11 and charged with speeding, driving without lights when required, disregarding a stop sign, and attempting to elude a police officer, when an officer conducting a stationary traffic enforcement of eastbound traffic on Lincoln Highway from North Orchard Drive observed that the vehicle Menzies was traveling at what appeared to be a high rate of speed, according to police. The officer activated the in-car radar which indicated that the vehicle was traveling at a speed of 64 m.p.h. in a posted 40 m.p.h. zone, according to police.

Anthony J. Hardy, 32, 361 Minocqua St., Park Forest, was arrested on March 12 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to that address to investigate a 911 hang-up call.

A red Mercury Topaz, Illinois registration #A111030, was reported stolen from a parking lot in the first block of South Arbor Trail on March 12.

The front Illinois registration plate of a vehicle parked in the first block of Choate Street was reported stolen on March 13. The theft may have occurred through the night of March 9 and 10, according to police.
