Park Forest Police Report for March 9, 2009


A Magellan 3200 model GPS system was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the Metra parking lot, 520 Homan Ave., on February 26. The front driver’s side window of the vehicle had been smashed.

Yemi Hakeem Rodgers, 30, 5040 W. 190th Pl., Country Club Hills, was arrested on February 27 and charged with a DUI/drugs-alcohol, possession of cannabis, speeding, improper lane usage, and operation of motor vehicle with suspended registration. Police performed a traffic stop on the vehicle Rogers was driving at Route 30 and Maple Avenue in Matteson. Police say the vehicle was traveling 58 mph in a 40 mile per hour zone, according to police.

Kili A. Jones, 21, 162 Shabbona Dr., Park Forest, was arrested on February 27 and issued a municipal ticket charging criminal damage to property when police were dispatched to that address to investigate a report of criminal damage to property.

Kevin M. King, 47, 3457 Hamilton Rd., Monee, was arrested on February 28 and charged with one felony count of possession of a controlled substance and possession of cannabis when police traveling southbound on Western Avenue in the area of Main Street observed a vehicle traveling southbound, swerving left and right, according to police. The driver of the vehicle, Dawn M. Larkin-Insalaco, 50, 3457 Hamilton Rd., Monee, was arrested and charged with failure to signal when turning and possession of cannabis.

A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested on February 28 and charged with possession of cannabis, issued traffic citations charging operating a motor vehicle with no rear registration light, and operating a motor vehicle with no valid license when officers traveling eastbound on North Street observed the vehicle the juvenile was driving had no rear registration light.

Kelly J. Martin, 50, 335 Illinois St., Park Forest, was arrested on March 3 and charged with two counts of domestic battery when police were dispatched to that address in reference to a report of a disturbance.

Michael C. Harris, 17, 175 Indianwood Blvd., Park Forest, was arrested on March 3 and issued a municipal ticket charging theft of property when an officer working as a liaison officer at Rich East High School received a report that Harris was allegedly responsible for the theft of money belonging to the student council fund, according to police. According to police, Harris agreed to empty his pockets for officers and placed his wallet on the table. He allegedly told police that the $325 he had in his wallet was money that he took from a desk in a room.

Two juveniles were arrested on March 3 and charged with disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to the intersection of Sauk Trail and Westwood Drive in reference to a report of a fight on the school bus.

The driver’s side rear tinted window of a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Saugatuck Street was reported shattered on March 4.

Four BB-size holes were discovered in a 5′ x 7′ window of the Hope Lutheran Church Roots and Wings Multi-Purpose Building on March 5.

The rear window of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Westwood Drive was reported shattered on March 5.

Terrence T. Jackson, 26, 4624 S. Ellis Ave., Chicago, was arrested on March 6 and charged with possession of cannabis and issued citations charging one headlight and an expired driver’s license when an officer traveling northbound on Western Avenue observed the vehicle Jackson was driving on Western Avenue at Algonquin Street had one headlight.
