Park Forest Police Report for May 11, 2009


Approximately $950 in cash was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Hemlock Street on May 1.

Elroy Jones, 23, 106B Indianwood Blvd., Park Forest, was arrested on May 1 and charged with criminal damage to property, assault, and resisting a peace officer when police were dispatched to the area of Court G-4 in response to a report of a domestic disturbance.

Police were dispatched to the first block of Ash Street on May 1 to investigate a report of battery. Police have suspect information.

A black, 1996 Nissan Acura TL, Illinois license 862 8751, was reported stolen from the first block of North Arbor Trail, on May 1.

Yumeka S. Brown, 30, 207 Kentucky St., Park Forest, was arrested on May 2 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to that address to investigate a report of domestic battery.

Police were dispatched to the 100 block of East Sycamore Drive on May 3 to investigate a report of a disturbance. Police have suspect information.

Approximately $1100 in cash, a computer valued at $850, two Kenwood brand speakers valued at $300, a Sony PlayStation game console valued at $150, and four Sony PlayStation 2 video games valued at $100, were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Arrowhead Street on May 4.

Keisha E. Gordon, 21, 119 Chestnut St., Park Forest, was arrested on May 4 and issued a municipal citation charging disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to a residence in the 2800 block of Western Avenue in reference to a report of an unwanted subject.

Police were dispatched to the first block of Cherry Street to investigate a report of criminal damage to property. Upon arrival, police discovered that someone had thrown a concrete brick through the front window of a house. According to police, there were no other bricks or rocks in the area that matched the one used to break the window. Police concluded that the offender(s) brought the rock from another location to the house with the intention of breaking this particular window. Police continue to investigate.

A stainless steel Rolex watch with diamonds on the wrist band valued at $30,000, a black LG LCD television valued at $1200, a Haurex watch valued at $500, a CTI watch valued at $140, a navy blue watch valued at $140, and a white gold pinky ring with diamonds on top valued at $2500, were reported stolen from a residence in the first block of East Rocket Circle on May 5. Police gathered evidence from the scene and continue to investigate.

A Sony 19-inch LCD TV valued at $200 was reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Mantua Street on May 6.

A window of Park Forest Academy, 375 Oswego Street, was reported shattered on May 7.

A 20-inch Symphonic flat screen television valued at $100, and a Magnavox DVD player valued at $50 were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Shabbona Drive on May 7.

Approximately $140 in loose change was reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Jackson Street on May 7. Police have suspect information.

A red 2005 Ford Focus, IL registration 956 9959, was reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Dogwood Street on May 7. The owner reported that his ex-girlfriend arrived at his residence with their two children, leaving the children with him and stating that she had business to attend to. She then took the keys to the Ford vehicle, driving off without permission, according to police. The owner stated that on May 6 he had received a phone call, with the number blocked, from her, informing him that she was in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with his vehicle, and would be returning the vehicle to him soon. The owner stated that he did not believe she had any intentions of returning the vehicle and wanted to report the car stolen. Police have suspect information.

The rear driver’s side window of a vehicle parked in the first block of Park Street was reported shattered on May 7. In addition, the steering column of the vehicle had been peeled.

A two-door gray 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra, Illinois registration BJB301, was reported stolen from the first block of Park Street on May 7.

Lexus F. Guilty, 17, 206 Todd St., Park Forest, was arrested on May 7 and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia when an officer on patrol in the area of Western Avenue and Algonquin Street observed the vehicle turn right onto Western Avenue from Algonquin without using a turn signal, according to police. After curbing the vehicle, the officer smelled a strong odor of burnt cannabis emanating from the interior of the vehicle, according to police. Lexus Guilty was an occupant in the back seat of the car.

Police were dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on May 8 to investigate a report of telephone harassment. A resident reported receiving threatening phone calls. Police have suspect information and continue to investigate.

Torre D. Sanders, 34, 8408 Hanbury Ct., Joliet, was arrested on May 8 and charged with domestic battery when police responded to Talala Elementary School, 430 Talala Street, to investigate a report of domestic disturbance that had occurred at the school.
