Park Forest Police Report for May 18, 2009


A living room picture window of a residence in the first block of Apple Lane was reported shattered on May 9.

A utility room window of a house in the first block of Winslow Street was reported shattered on May 9.

A glass window of the rear door of a residence in the 100 block of Berry Street was reported shattered on May 9.

A black eMachines laptop computer valued at $329.24 and a blue Verizon Wireless “Blitz” cell phone valued at $100 were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Miami Street on May 10.

Eight vehicles parked in the 400 block of Talala Street were reported keyed on May 10.

A 14-year-old juvenile was arrested on May 10 and issued two municipal citations charging battery when police responded to Illinois School, 208 Illinois Street, to investigate a report of battery.

Jaime J. Menke, 43, 3303 Chicago Rd., South Chicago Heights, was arrested on May 11 and issued a municipal citation charging outdoor burning when police were dispatched to the 100 block of Main Street to investigate a report of suspicious circumstances. According to police, an unidentified complainant reported seeing a male subject sitting on the ground who appeared to be starting a fire. When police arrived, Menke allegedly said that while he was on his lunch break, he sat down and began burning a small amount of shrubbery on the ground, according to police. Police observed a small pile of burnt shrubbery on the ground between Menke’s legs.

Imia T. Johnson, 17, 261 Allegheny St., Park Forest, was arrested on May 11 and issued a municipal citation charging battery when police responded to the 200 block of Allegheny Street to investigate a 911 hang-up.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Mantua Street on May 11 to investigate a burglar alarm sounding. Upon arrival, Officer Naughton observed that the front door had been forced open and the door jam damaged. The outer storm door had also been damaged. Police discovered a pair of white rubber gloves on the floor in the living room. Nothing else in the home appeared to be disturbed. Police gathered evidence from the scene and continue to investigate.

A living room window of a house in the 400 block of Winnemac Street was reported shattered on May 12.

A gold ring with a round diamond and 18 smaller diamonds surrounding it valued at $1500, a tennis bracelet with heart-shaped diamonds valued at $500, a gold watch valued at $100, two diamond stud earrings valued at $300, two drop leaf rhinestone earrings valued at $100, and other miscellaneous earrings valued at $26, were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Mohawk Street on May 12.

A juvenile was arrested on May 12 and issued a municipal ticket charging disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to Rich East High School to investigate a report of a disturbance.

Mitchell Carry Jackson, 34, 9053 S. Bishop, Chicago, was arrested on May 12 and charged with violation of an order of protection, domestic battery, and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence, when police were dispatched to the first block of Waverly Court in reference to a report of domestic battery.

A duffel bag containing a white “Zune” 30 GB MP3 player valued at $250, a US Cellular 380 cell phone, and other miscellaneous items was reported stolen on May 12 from an individual who had stopped in Central Park to exercise.

Police were dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on May 12 to investigate an allegation of child abuse. Police have suspect information and continue to investigate.

Patricia A. Okai, 42, 13 Mantua Court, Park Forest, was arrested on May 13 and charged with two counts of battery when police were dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department to investigate a report of battery.

A JVC in-dash detachable face CD/DVD/radio/satellite radio/TV monitor valued at $2000 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Homan Avenue on May 13.

Twenty dollars cash, a checkbook and a Stevie Wonder CD were reported stolen from a backpack in a residence in the 100 block of Algonquin Street on May 14.
