PFHS Veterans Program November 9, 2:30 p.m.

Be sure to read about the Park Forest Historical Society’s November 9, 2008 program, "Up Front and At Home," which will be held at the Park Forest Public Library, at 2:30 p.m.  Note:  this is not our usual meeting location.

This year, for the first time, wives of  World War II veterans will speak on what their lives were like on the Homefront.  Speakers will be Barbara Brown, Georgianna Delehanty, Jean Pickens, Leona DeLue, Helen Lawrence, and Marge Weicker.

The society hopes you will come share an entertaining and educational afternoon of remembering life on the Homefront during World War II, and the sacrifices made by those who stayed behind.  The public is welcome to attend.  Read our organization entry for more details!

More than 90 Park Forest World War II veterans have been interviewed by Suzaanne Brown for the orla history project, "GI Stories from a GI Town."  10-19-2008
