Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Park Forest Police issued a press release Wednesday afternoon regarding the arrest of three juveniles who are suspects in a number of residential burglaries on the south end of town. According to the release, police charged three juveniles on Tuesday, November 27, with burglary after they allegedly admitted their involvement in a string of over twenty residential burglaries over the last four months. PFPD Detectives recovered approximately $8,000 in stolen property from the offenders homes with the cooperation from each of the juvenile’s parents.

The break in the case came when Park Forest Police were interviewing a juvenile subject after he was taken into custody for his alleged involvement in a fight at Rich East High School. The subject had already been wanted for questioning by detectives in reference to his possible involvement in several recent burglaries. During that interview, the juvenile admitted to having had prior possession of a handgun stolen from one of the burglaries, according to police. Further investigation found that a second juvenile was now in possession of that handgun. That subject was located and interviewed along with a third juvenile who also confessed to being involved in the burglaries, according to police.

Stolen property was recovered from each of the juveniles’ homes including the stolen 9 mm Beretta semi-automatic handgun, a lap top computer, computer components, several X-Box 360 video games, a mini-bike, jewelry and other items.

All juveniles will be petitioned to Juvenile Court and the investigation continues.
