Prairie State College Offers Classes to Train for a New Career


Matteson, IL–(ENEWSPF)– News about the rising unemployment rates and the difficult economic situation is on the minds of millions of Americans. To respond to these challenging times, Prairie State College (PSC) offers several opportunities for retraining including programs to pursue different careers or classes to teach new skills.

This spring, PSC is offering several non-credit business classes. For a limited time, students can register a guest for free with one paid registration for the following non-credit business classes: Business for Entrepreneurs $implified, Marketing $implified, Effective Business Writing, the Skill of Negotiation, Presentation Skills, and Customer Service/Human Sensitivity.

Business for Entrepreneurs $implified teaches practical tools and strategies to develop and grow a business while Marketing $implified explains how to write a marketing plan for organizations and businesses.

Effective Business Writing teaches how to organize information, integrate the principles of readability, and improve writing skills. Presentation Skills instructs how to plan, prepare, organize, and practice presentations in a variety of settings.

The Skill of Negotiation prepares business professionals to negotiate via role-playing and other exercises. Customer Service/Human Sensitivity trains employees and employers how to handle customers and their expectations and how to become aware and sensitive to others.

Classes are offered at PSC’s Matteson Area Center, located at 4821 Southwick Dr., Matteson. Classes are conveniently scheduled evenings and weekends.
