Pre-K Students Perform ‘Three Little Pigs’

University Park, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Both the morning and afternoon pre-kindergarten classes from the Governors State University Family Development Center in University Park are producing and performing their own versions of “The Three Little Pigs.”

The three to five-year old students learned the intricacies of theatre production from acting to selling concessions and operating the lights. They also created art for advertising materials, made the costumes, gathered the props, and made the scenery.

“Our students experienced a variety of enriching literature activities that built on their understanding of the story,” explained Carol Morrison, Executive Director of the Family Development Center. “This was a complete curriculum project incorporating math, science, language, literature, and cultural diversity. And the children have had so much fun while they learned. It has been a great experience.”

The pre-kindergarteners will perform their version of “The Three Little Pigs” in two shows,on April 9, at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., in the Center for Performing Arts.

Tickets are only $1 and are available at the door or the Family Development Center.
