PSC Offers Kids the Opportunity to go to College

Chicago Heights, IL–(ENEWSPF)– A summer vacation from school doesn’t mean students must take a vacation from learning. Prairie State College (PSC) is bringing back its popular Kids@College program to provide area students with learning opportunities giving them a jump start on the upcoming school year.

Kids@College is a two-week summer enrichment program for children entering 2nd through 7th grade. The program will be held Monday through Thursday, July 13-23, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the college’s Matteson Area Center, 4821 Southwick Drive. The cost is $295 per child.

Kids@College focuses on enrichment in the areas of English, math, computers, reading, art, and science. The program is based on the goals the State of Illinois has set for each grade level, and the classes are taught by a certified teacher. Class size is limited to provide students with the attention they deserve.

“Kids@College classes encourage creativity, teach problem-solving skills, and bring together kids who love to learn,” said Mike Moody, coordinator of the Matteson Area Center and the Kids@College program.

More information about the Kids@College program is available in the summer class schedule and on PSC’s Web site at prairiestate.edu/bus/bus-kids.html. For more information or to register, contact Moody at (708) 709-7711 or [email protected].
