Registration Continues for Summer ’09 Courses at PSC


Chicago Heights, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Summer is a perfect time for students to get ahead in their college career at Prairie State College (PSC). Students can take courses to earn an associate’s degree to transfer to a four-year university or earn a degree or certificate to begin a career immediately. Registration is currently underway for two summer sessions, which begin May 26 and June 8.

All new students must register in person by visiting the Counseling and Academic Advising Center. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday (through May 15) from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Current students can register in person or online at prairiestate.edu.

The summer schedule is available on campus and at public libraries. The schedule also can be viewed on PSC’s Web site.

This summer, PSC also offers several opportunities for high school students. Students who will be high school seniors during the 2009-10 school year can take one college course with no charge for tuition. To be eligible, students must attend a high school in the PSC district, have a GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4-point scale, and have permission from their high school. High school students also can enroll in the college’s Summer Speech Camp, which runs July 6-16. The camp is led by the coaches of PSC’s national champion forensics team, and prepares students for upcoming speech competitions.
