Governor Quinn: “And we will build a third airport in the South Suburbs of Chicago… and we will build it as fast as humanly possible.”
Washington, D.C.–(ENEWSPF)– Congressman Jesse L. Jackson, Jr. made the following statement regarding Illinois Governor Pat Quinn’s commitment to build the third airport. The governor’s announcement was made during the unveiling of his budget in Springfield.
“I was encouraged by the governor’s commitment to build the third airport ‘as fast as humanly possible.’
“This is a promising step forward for the Illinois economy. During the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, ALNAC’s plan to build a third airport makes the kind of investment that our state so desperately needs. It would create thousands of jobs and generate billions of dollars for our state.
“The time to move forward and begin construction of the airport is now. ALNAC has the plan, the financing and the developers. Let’s get to work.”
