Washington, D.C. –(ENEWSPF)–July 8, 2016. On Friday, Rep. Luis V. Gutiérrez (D-IL) issued a statement in reaction to the slaying of five police officers in Dallas and the wounding of other officers and bystanders.
Today we mourn the deaths of innocent police officers who served their community. I am horrified and deeply saddened by the escalation of violence on our cities’ streets. The Dallas attack was cold-blooded murder and terrorism and cannot be tolerated or explained. The deep veins of anger, hatred, distrust, and factionalism in America are frightening and violence is a daily result. There is a corrosive wave of Americans hating each other and killing each other at alarming rates that we as a nation must come together to resolve and terminate.
