Rich East High Students Win Literary Contest


Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Three Rich East students have placed in the top three in their category of the 2008-2009 Write to Achieve! contest sponsored by the Black McDonald’s Operators Association of Chicago. All three students are sophomores and will be juniors in the coming school year.

Christian Dickens won the grand prize of a laptop computer and printer for an essay. Indigo Jackson won the second place prize of a desktop computer and printer for poetry and Matthew Mills won the third place prize of a $100 Borders Gift Certificate and a family pass to the DuSable Museum for his poetic entry.

Other schools participating in the competition were Amelia Earhart, Medger Evers, Wendell Green, Roosevelt Elementary, Edmund Burke, Alice L. Barnard and Beasley Academic Center.
