Rich East Honors 85 Students at Special Awards Ceremony

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– These Rich East Rockets’ seniors and “Best Friends Forever” are among 85 students honored last week at a special awards ceremony at the high school. Pictured from left to right are: Rida Hodges, honored for perfect attendance, senior year and meeting or exceeding all areas of the PSAE/ACT, college acceptance; Shantell Hicks, honored for meeting or exceeding scores in all areas of the PSAE/ACT, college acceptance and perfect attendance for the year; Brian Culley-Tatum, honored for student mentor, college acceptance, meeting or exceeding all areas of the PSAE/ACT; Mercedes Collopy honored for early college acceptance, meeting or exceeding areas of the PSAE/ACT; and Taimane Walls, honored for meeting or exceeding all areas of the PSAE/ACT.

Some of the other students honored include freshman Laura Banya for perfect attendance; seniors Justin Sims, Mike Bauseman and Kyle Rada, received certificates and special recognition for exceeding scores in all five areas of the PSAE/ACT last spring; senior Mercedes Collopy for early and multiple college acceptance and for meeting and exceeding standards in all areas of the PSAE/ACT; sophomores Jordyn Steed and junior Jacquan Nailer received special recognition; senior Raven Nance received special honors for early college acceptance and four-year perfect attendance; Raven Nance and fellow senior classmates Jasmine Murphy and TKeyah Ford also received special recognition.

The students were all honored at special principal’s breakfast honoring 85 students titled “Yes, We Did!” Thursday, Feb. 5, at the school. The special breakfast honored students who displayed high achievement skills in the classroom and leadership positions in the school to help their fellow students.
