Building Operator Certification Program at Prairie State College

CHICAGO HEIGHTS—(ENEWSPF)—January 26, 2015. Prairie State College (PSC), in partnership with the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, is hosting a seven week Building Operator Certification training program which is appropriate for facility managers, HVAC technicians and related personnel.

Building Operator Certification (BOC) is a nationally recognized, award-winning competency-based training and certification program that offers facility personnel the improved job skills and knowledge to transform workplaces to be more comfortable, energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Energy and Recycling Office and the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, in partnership with Prairie State College, are helping military veterans get jobs in the growing fields of building operations and maintenance through the nationally-recognized BOC program. There are a number of free benefits for unemployed and underemployed veterans, including but not limited to scholarships and tuition assistance, mentoring from facilities management professionals, job placement assistance, and career advancement in the growing facilities management field.
