Chicago Heights, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Generation Green, a student-run recycling program at Marian Catholic High School, is sponsoring the 2nd annual Community Electronics Recycling Drive on Saturday, May 11, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., at Marian Catholic High School’s parking lot.
If it plugs in the wall, Generation Green will take it. This free service recycles unwanted or broken electronics, including computers, monitors, printers, laptops, TV’s, stereo equipment, microwaves, or large household appliances. These items may be dropped off at the school’s parking lot at 700 Ashland Avenue, Chicago Heights, Illinois.
Jennifer Clifford and Tona Haywood, co-moderators of the event, are enthusiastic for students to make a difference through recycling in the community.
“We are expecting a large turnout at the Community Electronic Recycling Drive,” said Jennifer Clifford. “Volunteers worked hard to keep the lines moving. It is truly uplifting to see students take ownership on a meaningful cause.”
Generation Green, which oversees the recycling program at Marian Catholic, throughout the school year, includes more than 30 Marian Catholic student volunteers who will assist with moving electronics from vehicles on the day of the event.
