GSU Hosts Spring Regional Table Tennis Tournament


University Park, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Collegiate table tennis competition comes to Governors State University on Saturday, February 19 with theNational Collegiate Table Tennis Association Regional Tournament. More than 50 competitors from eight schools will compete for the regional championship and the chance to attend the National Championship in April.

The competition of Midwestern colleges and universities brings together some of the best players in the region including athletes from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Illinois-Chicago, and new table tennis powerhouse, Governors State University. GSU won the regional tournament last November.

Additional schools attending the regional tournament include Northwestern, Purdue, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Michigan Technological University. University of Chicago’s attendance is still pending.

The competition begins at 9:30 a.m. with the opening ceremony and will last all day with a break at noon for lunch. Spectators are welcome and admission is free.
