Indiana Students Support Conservation


Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Eight students from Matteson Elementary School District 162’s Indiana School have been selected to participate in the state’s and the Chicago Botanic Garden’s “It’s Our River Day, Art on a Rain Barrel Festival” on September 19 at Navy Pier.

Working as teams, the students created designs that they will paint on the rain barrels during the festival. The students include: Pollution Busters: Sara Whitson, Ivy Weihert, Camille Johnson and Water Warriors: Amani Malvin-Taylor, Arianna Kelly, Darianna Greer, Karah Polk, Erica Satchell.

The festival is coordinated by the Chicago Botanic Garden and the governor’s office and designed to raise awareness of the importance of conserving fresh water and the value of rain barrels as a tool for conserving water.
