Late Start Classes Begin September 18 at Prairie State College

Chicago Heights , IL–(ENEWSPF)– Still thinking about taking college courses this fall? It’s not too late. Prairie State College (PSC) offers a number of courses which start mid-September. Late Start courses begin September 18 and accommodate students who prefer a later start date.

PSC has record enrollment for the fall term and has added more Late Start courses to accommodate the increased demand. Space is still available in some popular courses, but students need to register as soon as possible since availability is limited. Registration for Late Start courses is ongoing and will continue until the courses begin or are filled.

The college offers more than 30 Late Start courses, which run for 12 weeks instead of 16 weeks. To compensate for their abbreviated schedule, Late Start courses meet slightly longer and cover the same amount of material as their 16 week counterparts. These courses also offer the same number of credits as the 16 week courses and satisfy the same requirements for students working toward a degree or certificate.

Late Start course offerings include art, astronomy, automotive, business, English, graphic communications, humanities, math, music, psychology, sociology, and more. A complete listing of course offerings can be viewed on the college’s Web site at prairiestate.edu; click on WebAdvisor.

For more information about registering for courses, contact the Counseling and Academic Advising Center at (708) 709-3506.
