Meet Nicole Montalvo:

  1. Are you a Park Forest Resident: I have been a resident of Park Forest since I was born.
  2. At Rich East all four years: I have attended Rich East all four years.
  3. Favorite classes and why:  My favorite class this year is statistics. I’m not a math person, but stats are more about people, and the world, than it is about numbers. Also, Mr. Blomarz is a great teacher. My favorite class overall was History and Thought of the Western Man because we learned very interesting facts and theories and the teachers were fantastic. We also engaged in many fun, challenging projects.
  4. Favorite teachers: My favorite teachers are: Mr. Rado, Mr. Blomarz, Ms. Franklin and Mrs. Bloodgood. They’re all just great teachers and all-around cool people.
  5. GPA/Class Rank: 3.163/36th of 204.
  6. ACT: 26.
  7. Areas met on PSAE: Reading and Math.
  8. AP Exams: AP English Language and Composition 4, AP United States History 3.
  9. Activities/Athletics/Clubs participated in/Special awards for academics: Drama Club (2 years), Mathletes (1 year), Scholastic Bowl (4 years), Thespians Society-Secretary (4 years), Youth Alive!/See You at the Pole (4 years).
  10.  Clubs, hobbies, community/special volunteering in community: I am very involved in my church, Calvary Assembly of God Church in Flossmoor. In my free time, I also enjoy writing.
  11. College choice/major: I have been accepted at Evangel University in Springfield, Mo. I am waiting to hear from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio. If I attend Evangel, I will pursue an English major. If I attend Oberlin, I will pursue a creative writing degree. I also plan to study history at either college.
  12. Where do you want to be in five years/in 10 years: In five years, I hope to have me degree and becoming a regularly published writer. I may either work for a company or do free-lance writing from home. I also hope to maybe be engaged but at least living on my own in a decent place. In 10 years, I want to be raising a family and just enjoying a happy, successful life.
