Non-credit Food Service Sanitation Courses Coming to South Suburban College


SOUTH HOLLAND, IL—(ENEWSPF)—September 4, 2013. South Suburban College’s Office of Continuing Education is offering two upcoming non-credit Food Service Sanitation courses as follows:

FDS C05–Food Service Recertification

Fee:  $69

Wednesday, November 13, 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

University & College Center (UCC), Oak Forest

This one-day course meets the requirements set by the Illinois Department of Public Health for the renewal of the food service sanitation manager’s certificate.  Students will be updated on current Illinois codes regarding food service sanitation.  Attendance is mandatory for recertification and you must bring your current certification card. 

FDS E10–Food Service Certification

Fee $119
Wednesdays 10/2 through 10/30, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (Class will not meet on 10/16.) 

University & College Center (UCC), Oak Forest

This course is geared toward the manager or supervisor employed in the food service field.  Emphasis is placed on food protection through sanitation training.  Successful completion of course and qualifying examination prepares an individual for certification.  Student must attend all class sessions and fulfill testing requirements in order to be eligible for State certification.  A required textbook is available in the college bookstore and must be purchased before first class meeting.
