University Park, IL—(ENEWSPF)–October 9, 2013 – High school seniors and their parents will have the opportunity to learn about the opportunities for first year students at Governors State University on October 19, at 9 a.m. Information will be available about the university’s programs, facilities, and campus life as well as financial aid and university housing.
The open house will provide prospective students and their families with information on admissions requirements, freshman academic programs, on-campus housing, and campus resources and safety. There will also be tours of the campus and a resource fair.
GSU will be admitting its first class of first year students in 2014. Only 270 students will be admitted into a unique academic program that will allow them to investigate their education options while completing all of their general education degree requirements. This innovative approach has proven to lead to greater student success. Additionally students entering in 2014 will also have the opportunity to be the first residents of the first on campus student housing at GSU. Construction on Prairie Place Residences will be completed by summer 2014.
